Stacy Barthe In the InBetween

The sultry and seductive voice of song bird and celebrity songwriter Stacy Barthe is as refreshing as a breeze on a tropical summer day. Reminiscent of soulful contemporaries Estelle and Esperanza Spaulding, Miss Barthe’s sound fuses soul, R&B, along with classic reggae to create  heartwarming ballads on her second studio album In the InBetween.

Love, Heartbreak, Break-ups, and Make-ups are the themes of the hopeful romantic on the 9 track disc released in 2012 with production from  Supa Dups of Miami’s famed Black Chiney Sound

The DominicanHaitian musician releases her inhibitions and reveals a fantasy as she belts out “I want you, you , you, you” on No Strings Attached.

The Brazilian Bossa Nova inspired track Just My Luck takes you to a distance love land as the songstress pleads with a lover to release her from captivity.

Stacy pays homage to female Dancehall icon Patra as she harmonizes to a Rocksteady beat on When I’m Gone: “I’m on a romantic call, talking to my baby down ah mi yard”

Personal favorite Keep It Like Is is authentically reggae in lyrics & production, you will find yourself rocking in and out of a gaze as Stacy shares her testimony on love recovery and distancing herself from heartache.

You live and you learn from the stories compiled in this musical masterpeice. I would recommend sitting next to someone dear as you hear each track change one by one drifting away to where it all begun… Not your average R&B album, In the Inbetween is golden- a treasure destined to be shared with reggae & roots lovers. Good music for the soul
